Who We Are

First, Mr. Sammy Tedla started his Transportation Company back in 2012. This was initially under the license name of Lucy Transportation. After operating that company for over 2 years he then changed the name to Mimi’s Transportation. After operating under Mimi’s License for another several years, He finally changed the name to Tedla Transportation. Tedla Transportation was started in 2020 in the prime of Covid. Although many other small businesses closed down during that time Tedla stepped up to make sure that the members in the community still received the care that they needed. Whether that be dialysis, doctors’ appointment, covid testing or whatever needs that they had Tedla was out there making sure they made their appointments. Regardless of the risk Tedla knows the importance of all appointments and knew someone had to continue to do so. Knowing the high risk of maybe catching the virus our drivers stepped up took the proper precautions and got our members to their appointments.

Our company then began to thrive with all four of our insurance providers noticing all the hard work and dedication of our company we began to triple our trip volume and take more members than ever before. We now can accommodate over 400 trips per day with our full roster of drivers. After seeing how well Our company here in VA was doing, we decided to take it up a step. By going back to Our roots in Ethiopia in early 2022. We have now started a one-of-a-kind Emergency and Non-emergency Ambulance service. This service is called TedlaB Ambulance Service PLC. TedlaB Ambulance company intends to operate at a very high standard in Addis Ababa. A 50km radius by importing 22 brand new modified ambulances (Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support, Special Care Life Support), establishing a one-of-a-kind call and dispatch center capable of handling 300 calls at a time, developing a mobile application platform for a stronger relationship between ourselves and our customers. We are actively recruiting skilled staff and providing appropriate training sessions for each employee. By doing so, we hope to assist Ethiopia’s health sector and solve the problems in the country. While TedlaB is changing lives across the globe in Africa, Tedla Transportation is also here in the US currently only being in the state of VA. We hope to one day operate in more states here in the US as well.
